According to a survey conducted in 2025, ‘Labour Requirements’ (BMO), 44.4% of recruitments in transport and logistics are considered difficult.
The logistics sector, an essential pillar of e-commerce, is facing a new reality: dealing with a shortage of talent, rapid technological change and growing demand for ever more efficient services.
Why is training young people a real strategic challenge?
To meet these new challenges, training younger generations in e-commerce logistics professions is becoming a necessity, both to ensure the sustainability of businesses and to support the transition to more sustainable and innovative practices.
In this sense, Dokeraa is pursuing its ambition: to develop high-quality logistical support to train young people in logistics professions.
Behind this desire lies a twofold challenge: to pass on professional skills and best practices, and to offer young people genuine career prospects that are rewarding and stable.
A lever for anticipating future needs
Recruiting qualified candidates remains a challenge for many logistics companies.
However, training younger generations is an asset for many organisations, as it enables them to anticipate skills needs, reduce staff turnover and enhance the sector’s appeal.
- Anticipate the skills required for the job: with increasing automation and the rise of e-commerce, logistics jobs increasingly require technical expertise and proficiency with digital tools. Training young people in new practices makes it possible to anticipate future needs.
- Reducing staff turnover: solid logistics training from the outset encourages employee commitment and loyalty.
- Enhancing the sector’s appeal: demonstrating to young people that logistics is a dynamic field offering career prospects and playing a key role in the economy.
For Dokeraa, investing in training means both preparing tomorrow’s talent and supporting the company’s sustainable growth.
A means of ensuring the sustainability of structures
To provide the best possible support for younger generations, Dokeraa is implementing concrete measures to facilitate the integration of young people into logistics professions.
This involves logistics apprenticeship programmes in particular: internships or work-study programmes that enable young people to acquire the operational and digital skills needed for e-commerce logistics.
Logistics support also includes personalised guidance, thanks to dedicated monitoring, which allows each young person to progress individually and familiarise themselves with the entire logistics chain.
Dokeraa also makes it a point of honour to raise awareness of sustainability issues, pillars that are at the very heart of the company, such as responsible logistics, vision for the profession, and a commitment to strong values.
Through these initiatives, Dokeraa helps train skilled, motivated professionals who are aware of the contemporary challenges facing the sector, while ensuring the sustainability of the company’s core values and ambitions.
Added value for young people and businesses alike
Training younger generations generates double benefits, as it benefits both the companies involved and future young graduates.
For young people, this access to logistics training enables them to acquire new technical skills, as well as an understanding of logistics processes and the opportunity to seize attractive career opportunities in a rapidly expanding sector.
For companies, training young talent is a considerable asset, as new qualified, committed and motivated players enter the job market in search of opportunities in the sector.
This approach is part of a strategy of social responsibility and sustainable development, where logistics training becomes a strategic lever for the logistics sector.
Training today to secure tomorrow's logistics
Investing in the training of young people today, over and above its educational value, is proving to be a long-term strategy for anticipating the future needs of the logistics industry.
